HYANNIS, MA

 ASSEMBLY AREA

 Old Colony Road from Nantucket Road to South Street

 PARADE ROUTE

Start at Old Colony Road and South Street;

Straight ahead on Old Colony Road;

LEFT on to Main Street;

LEFT on to Sea Street;

LEFT on to South Street;

Parade ends at point of beginning.

The reviewing stand will be at the corner of Main Street and High School Road.

Parading units will enter the assembly area by going along Ocean Street then turn RIGHT on to Nantucket Street on to Old Colony Road.

Parading units will line up in the assembly area in reverse order – Aleppo will be closest to Nantucket Road and the last unit in the line of march will be near the starting point of the parade.

Small trailers pulled by auto or pickup truck can be unloaded in the assembly area and parked there during the parade.  At the end of the parade those returning to load in the assembly area are to turn RIGHT on to Ocean Street then RIGHT on to Nantucket Street to Old Colony Road and the assembly area.

Trailer trucks WILL NOT participate in the parade.  They will unload in the assembly area and remain there where they will load at the end of the parade.

Both sides of Old Colony Road can be used for parading units to line up.  Please be mindful of the fact that the assembly area is in a residential neighborhood so keep driveways clear and allow for local traffic.

Parking of private vehicles is available in parking lots by the parade route.  Car pooling to parking lots is recommended.  Private vehicles cannot park in the assembly area.

DIRECTIONS

From Route 6 To Headquarters Hotel

From Route 6 East turn off at Exit 6 and keep RIGHT on to Iyannough Road.  Headquarters Hotel (Cape Codder Resort is on the right.

From Route 6 To Parade Assembly Area

From Route 6 East turn off at Exit 6 and keep RIGHT on to Iyannough Road;  at the Cape Codder Resort (Headquarters Hotel) turn RIGHT on to Bearse’s Way then

Turn LEFT on to Falmouth Road (Route 28);

At the Airport Rotary go RIGHT on to Barnstable Road then ahead on to Ocean Street then

Turn RIGHT on to Nantucket Street which goes to Old Colony Road and the assembly area.

From Route 6 To Secure Area

From Route 6 East turn off at Exit 6 and keep RIGHT on to Iyannough Road;

At the Cape Codder Resort (Headquarters Hotel) turn RIGHT on to Bearse’s Way;

Secure area will be either on the RIGHT in the Town Yards or on the LEFT at 600 Bearse’s Way or in both areas depending on space considerations.  The locations will be clearly marked.  Both areas are approximately ½ mile along Bearse’s Way after turning to this road.

From Secure Area To Assembly Area

Turn either LEFT or RIGHT out of your secure area on to Bearse’s Way;

Turn LEFT on to Falmouth Road (Route 28);

At the Airport Rotary go RIGHT on to Barnstable Road then ahead on to Ocean Street then

Turn RIGHT on to Nantucket Street which goes to Old Colony Road and the assembly area.

From Secure Area To Competition Area

Turn either LEFT or RIGHT out of your secure area on to Bearse’s Way;

RIGHT on to Falmouth Road (Route 28);  As you go along Falmouth Road you will see a Whitehall Estates sign on the right and just past that is Whitehall Way on the right.  Almost opposite Whitehall Way there is an unmarked roadway leading into the school complex.  Turn LEFT into this unmarked roadway and stay on it to the competition area.

From Competition Area To Assembly Area

Motorized equipment competing will travel with a police escort from the competition area to the assembly area.  Vehicles travelling otherwise turn LEFT out of competition area on to West Main Street;

Go ½ way around the rotary circle on to Main Street, then;

RIGHT on to South Street;

RIGHT on to Ocean Street;

RIGHT on to Nantucket Street which goes to Old Colony Road and the assembly area.

From Parade End To Secure Area

Refer to the Area Map and depending on your location find your best route to the Airport Rotary on Route 28 (Iyannough Road).  Go approximately ¾ of the way around the rotary continuing on Route 28 which now becomes Falmouth Road;

RIGHT on to Bearse’s Way to secure area on either the left or ride side of the street.
